Valley Rural Electric Cooperative sponsored 15 high school students on the 2019 Rural Electric Youth Tour to Washington, D.C., June 16th through the 21st. The students from eight school districts, including Juniata and Huntingdon Counties just completed their junior year. They spent time meeting legislators, learning about the cooperative business model, and touring monuments and memorials. They joined nearly 1,500 other juniors from electric cooperatives all over the country. Valley Rural Electric Cooperative is a member-owned utility that serves more than 21,000 consumers in Central Pennsylvania.
The Pennsylvania Veterinary Foundation (PVF) is becoming Animal Care PA. Originally established in 1983, PVF has served as the charitable arm of the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA) and is well-known throughout the veterinary community. The Foundation began as an organization funded by Pennsylvania veterinarians to provide scholarships to veterinary school. Programs have expanded to support animals in need, as well as the animal companions of senior citizens with limited resources. The mission of Animal Care PA will remain “to help caring people help animals.” For more information or to donate, visit AnimalCarePA.org.
