An early-morning tractor-trailer crash Wednesday in Snyder County claimed the life of a Madison Heights, VA man.  State Police say 31-year-old Jerel Harris was the operator of the rig on Route 235 in Spring Township.  The driver lost control while descending a hill.  The rig struck the guiderail before jackknifing in the roadway.  Harris was pronounced dead at the scene.

An area man has been charged with making terroristic threats after an incident earlier this month in Lewistown.  Borough Police charged 33-year-old Timothy Ritter, Jr. of Derry Township as a result of a hit-and-run crash June 5th on South Main Street.  An investigation revealed Ritter had been involved in a political argument with other patrons at the Bierhaus in Granville Township. Ritter left the bar and began following a blue pickup truck while shouting death threats at the driver.  Ritter caused a collision with the pickup as it attempted to turn off South Main onto Lombardy Circle.  He then fled the scene, but was apprehended a short time later by an off-duty State Trooper.  Other charges against Ritter include reckless endangerment and DUI.

The American Red Cross bloodmobile will be in Mifflin County today.  You can give the “Gift of Life” at Maple Grove Mennonite Church on Maple Grove Road in Belleville today from 12:30 pm to 6:00 pm.
