PennDOT says work will begin on two Huntingdon County roadways beginning today (Monday, June 10th), in Logan, Miller, Oneida and Barree Townships. Drainage work will begin on both Route 4007 (Petersburg Pike), from Route 305 in Petersburg Borough to Route 1009 (Cold Springs Road), and on Route 1011 (Murry Run Road), from Route 26 (Standing Stone Road) to Route 1001 (Stone Creek Ridge Road). Work will be under daylight traffic control. Motorists are advised to use caution in the area. All work is weather dependent, and expected to be completed by early September. Penn State Berkey Creamery has been designated as one of the sweet stops on the Pennsylvania Ice Cream Trail. The trail is a collaboration between visitPA.com, the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, PA Preferred, and the Center for Dairy Excellence. Berkey Creamery, under the College of Agricultural Sciences, is among the stops on the western leg of the trail; two other trails focus on the south central and eastern Pennsylvania regions. Now thru September 2nd, if you visit five of the stops on any of the trails, you are eligible to receive a “Pursue Your Scoops” T-shirt. Visiting all stops on any trail will entitle you to a shirt and a commemorative ice cream bowl.
