A PennDOT grant will help reduce travel hazards in a Huntingdon County borough.  The grant totaling more than $197,000 ($197,610) will address runoff issues impacting the intersection of Rio Grande and Hudson Streets in Three Springs.  The project will reduce the risk of flooding at the community pool, while also improving pedestrian access. Grade changes in the area will also improve access for emergency vehicles.  The funding was distributed through PennDOT’s Multimodal Transportation Fund.

A Route 35 bridge preservation project in Juniata County will close the roadway on Thursday.  The bridge spans Schweyer Run in Mifflintown Borough next to the American Legion.  Starting Thursday, (July 23rd), the contractor will begin roadway and shoulder repairs.  Route 35 will be closed between Creamery Lane and Cedar Street. During the closure, motorists will follow a detour using Route 22/322 to the Port Royal exit, Route 75 and William Penn Highway (Route 3002). The closure and detour will be in place for approximately 30 days.
