The Pennsylvania Senate has approved legislation that would ban vaccine passports.  The measure would prohibit the state, as well as counties, municipalities, school districts and colleges that are subsidized by state taxpayers from requiring proof of vaccination, according to the bill’s sponsors, Senators Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-28) and Judy Ward (R-30).  Senate Bill 618 was introduced after other states moved forward with various proposals to require proof of vaccination.  The proposal was amended in the Senate to prohibit the PA Department of Health Secretary from requiring face masks, travel restrictions, and closures of privately owned businesses.  The bill now advances to the House of Representatives for consideration.

Yesterday, the PA General Assembly passed House Resolution 106 that would immediately terminate Governor Tom Wolf’s COVID-19 emergency disaster declaration. In a separate bill approved by lawmakers Thursday, existing regulatory flexibilities will be extended until September 30th.
