Motorists traveling on Route 305 in Huntingdon County  between Petersburg and Alexandria today may encounter possible traffic delays due to the 7th annual “National Bike to School Day.”   Students from the Juniata Valley School District will be biking to school between 7:45 and 8:30 am, and riding back to the fire halls at 3:00 pm.  Approximately 20 students will be biking to school along with parents, teachers and community leaders.  “Bike to School Day” was founded in 2012 as a way to bring community leaders and children together, and to raise awareness for the need to create safer routes for biking.  The event is a partnership between Juniata Valley High School Sustainability Club, J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Rothrock Outfitters, the Juniata College Bike Club, the Pennsylvania State Police, and the Alexandria and Petersburg Volunteer Fire Companies.  For more information, contact the Juniata Valley High School Office at (814) 669-4401.
