Pennsylvania State Senator Scott Wagner will oppose incumbent Democrat Governor Tom Wolf in November.  Wagner won the Republican Primary Tuesday over Paul Mango and Laura Ellsworth.  Jeff Bartos won the Republican nomination for Lieutenant Governor.  In PA’s 82nd Legislative District, John Hershey beat eight other Republican candidates, and will face Democrat Kim Hart in the General Election.   Republican Lou Barletta won 62% of the vote to beat Jim Christiana for U.S. Senate.  Barletta will square off against incumbent Bob Casey in November.  For the U.S. House Seat in the 12th District, Republican Tom Marino defeated Bradford County Commissioner Doug McLinko.  The race on the Democrat side between Judy Herschel and Marc Friedenberg is still undecided.  State Senator Jake Corman, along with State Representatives Kerry Benninghoff and Rich Irvin were running unopposed.

 

A McAlisterville man was injured Saturday when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.  State Police say 22-year-old Kody Lukens was operating a Chevy Silverado on Mountain Road in Fayette Township, Juniata County.  He was transported to Penn State Hershey Medical Center.

 

A State Police investigation into a February burglary continues in Perry County.  Between February 15th and 26th, thieves removed a safe from a residence on Pfautz Road in Penn Township.  Larry and Darlene Bender of Duncannon told Police the safe contained U.S. currency valued at $10,000.  The safe was valued at $50.00.

 

The American Red Cross will be in Juniata County for a blood drive today.  The Red Cross will be at Walker Grange Hall in Mexico from 1:30 pm to 7:00 pm.
