An area man was arrested after illegally entering a vehicle last week in Lewistown.  Borough Police say after receiving a report May 7th just before 6:00 am, 22-year-old Darian Honzik was located by an officer on West Spanogle Avenue in possession of a backpack and a rifle case.  Honzik attempted to conceal the items and fled on foot.  He was apprehended and found in possession of a rifle, a small amount of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.  Honzik was charged with theft of a firearm, flight to avoid apprehension, tampering with evidence and numerous other offenses.


A Huntingdon County woman was charged with theft after being caught on video.  The incident occurred April 4th in Orbisonia.  According to State Police, 25-year-old Jodi Spencer of Mount Union received funds from several State Farm Insurance customers.  Through video surveillance, she was observed by a State Farm agent counting the money and putting it in her pocket book.  Spencer then deleted payment records on a computer.  Stolen funds totaled just under $1,100.


Numerous charges have been filed against a Lewistown man after a vehicle chase by police on May 2nd.  According to the report, 26-year-old Garrett Snyder was the operator of a vehicle that ran a stop light at the intersection of East Market and Brown Streets in the borough.  Snyder ran a second light, and after a brief pursuit, was stopped and arrested by Lewistown Police.  Snyder told police, he “had a bad day and wanted to go to jail.”  He was charged with attempting to elude a police officer, a third degree felony, as well as DUI, and two red light violations.
