The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) reminds eligible parties that applications for grants to fund programs that discourage and reduce underage and dangerous drinking are due by noon Friday, March 15th.  Eligible grant applicants include Pennsylvania school districts and institutions of higher education, community organizations, municipal police departments, municipal officials, and nonprofit, and for-profit organizations.  The grant cycle is for one year, from July 2019 through June 2020.  Grants will be awarded on a competitive basis with a maximum award of $20,000.   For more information, visit lcb.pa.gov  and choose “Press Releases”.

 

Rolling traffic stops are scheduled again for Monday (March 11th) along Route 22 – 322 eastbound near the Arch Rock interchange in Juniata County. The rolling stops are expected to take place during daylight hours, starting by 9:00 am. Depending on work progress, stops may also take place on Tuesday (March 12th).  Electronic message boards and roadway signs will alert drivers to the stops.

 

We “spring forward” one hour this weekend.  Daylight Saving Time begins at 2:00 am on Sunday (March 10th).  Set clocks ahead one hour before going to bed Saturday night.
