A Lewistown man has been charged with attempted criminal homicide after a shooting Tuesday morning on Klondyke Drive in Granville Township. According to State Police, 29-year-old Bruce Fetters shot 30-year-old Scott Powell in the abdomen with a handgun at about 10:50 am during a physical altercation. Powell was taken to Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital and later flown for treatment. Other charges against Fetters include aggravated and simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.
An area man was arrested on several counts after a domestic altercation Monday in Armagh Township. State Police say 33-year-old Roman Brady Simmons of Lewistown was charged after he drove away from the scene at a high rate of speed with a 35-year-old female on the hood of his vehicle. The victim was thrown from the auto, sustaining numerous injuries. She was treated at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital. Charges include aggravated and simple assault and recklessly endangering another person. Simmons was placed in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility with bail set at $100,000.
The American Red Cross will be in McClure for a blood drive today. The Bloodmobile will be at the McClure Fire Company on West Specht Street from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
