Authorities are investigating a string of burglaries at churches in Huntingdon County.  In late January, someone removed a computer, computer equipment and two TVs from the Cassville United Methodist Church.  Assorted beverages were also taken from the Cassville Lutheran Church.  Between February 3rd and 4th, unknown individuals removed approximately 250 gallons of oil from Reality Church of God in Wood Township.  Anyone with information should contact State Police at Huntingdon at 814-627-3161.

 

Pennsylvania dairy producers are invited to apply for the Dairy of Distinction award from the Pennsylvania program.  Applications must be submitted by April 15th.  The award is based on the concept that attractive farmsteads enhance consumer confidence in the wholesomeness of milk and stimulate milk sales and public support for the industry. Dairies receiving the highest scores in each of 10 Pennsylvania districts will be awarded an 18-inch-by-24-inch Dairy of Distinction sign to display in front of their farm.  To obtain an application, call 814-574-9219, or visit the program’s website at http://www.dairyofdistinction.com.  The Pennsylvania program is part of the Northeast Dairy Farm Beautification Program.

 

The Mifflin-Juniata United Way’s 8th Annual “Walk for Warmth” was held Saturday at Kish Park.  Executive Director Oksana DeArment said approximately 80 walkers raised close to $6,000 at the event.  DeArment said the turnout was higher than last year.  Funds raised will benefit 24 households in Mifflin and Juniata Counties through the Mifflin-Juniata Energy Bank.  The “Walk for Warmth” is co-sponsored by MCS Bank.

 

Weis Markets has issued a recall for its pre-made Penne Pasta with Asiago Sauce and Grilled Chicken single serving meal for failing to list a milk allergen on the label.  People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of a serious life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product.
